Before the festival, dancer and choreographer Daniel Mariblanca will discuss his book The Magical Book of A True Story. This fairytale picture book was created during the working process of the performance A True Story.. In this performance, trans people – from 8 to 66 years old – talked about their shared journey with their chosen family members.
Parallel to this process, Daniel worked with illustrator Claudia De Sessa on the publication The Magical Book of A True Story. In it, images from the performances are combined with letters written by the protagonists to their family members, beautifully captured in colourful and intimate illustrations. Claudia captured it all in colorful and intimate illustrations.
Now Daniel and Claudia are both here! On this Monday evening at Savannah Bay, they'll engage in conversation, talk about their respective processes and the publication of the book, of which you can get a signed copy before walking to the Neude Library.
