For several years, What You See has been collaborating with choreographer and dancer Daniel Mariblanca. Through his inclusive company, 71BODIES, Mariblanca has been dedicated to shining a light on the diverse experiences and stories of transgender individuals. His approach places a strong emphasis on empathy, empowerment, and the celebration of joy.
This year, we are thrilled to welcome Daniel Mariblanca back to What You See with a multi-day workshop! This workshop is firmly rooted in the methodologies employed by his company as showcased in their latest production, A True Story.which delves into the profound relationships between transgender individuals and their chosen family members. Join us in this unique setting, where participants can celebrate their transition journey, embrace their queer identity, and explore their creative potential through dance and movement. The workshop is open to individuals of all ages, starting from 10 years old, and welcomes people with diverse capacities. No prior dance experience is required.
The workshop is ideally suited for transgender and non-binary people, but is also open to anyone who experiences gender in a non-normative way. We would like to invite you to attend all days of the workshop. Can't you do that? Please contact info@whatyouseefestival.nl to discuss the possibilities. You can also contact us if you have other questions!
This workshop operates on a Pay What You Can basis. While the recommended price is €XNUMX, we understand that everyone's circumstances are different.
