Who would you be if you can choose your identity? And what does identity actually mean? Your passport, religion, gender or background? Although it’s hard to define, we are all constantly judged by it. It determines if we’re considered a girl or a boy, homo or hetero, popular or an outsider. Big themes, personal stories, music, theatre and dance alternate in rapid succession in this spectacular performance.
Guided by an invisible quizmaster six youngsters are offered the chance to create a new identity. But there is one catch: first, they need to reveal their true selves. They are challenged to share their fears, secrets and thoughts about one and other. Are their judgements about each other and themselves actually correct? How far are they willing to go to reach their desired identity? A dangerous balance act between the persons they are longing to be, and the persons they really are.
After the performance you’re very welcome to ask the performers and makers everything what you want to know!
With ID, ID Theatre Company has presented an intrigueing performance that evokes curiosity to performances yet to come.
