What is your personal protest? This question was put to seven students of the Theatre Design programme. During What You See Festival you can experience their answers! The students worked with the theme ‘My Body, My Protest’ and their pop-ups will surprise you at any time and any place during the festival. Installations, performances, interventions in public space, visual art; everything is possible. They will treat visitors to tantalising gems and are not afraid to knock down sacred cows. Keep your ears and eyes open so as not to miss a thing!
WE ARE CAPILUS | Fay van Erp & Flox Aalberts
Het Huis Utrecht
We want optimal profits. We want to fully exploit you and your body. You are our product. We throw nothing away, squander nothing. Your hair is our resource. Your waste our capital. Blonde, black, grey, white, curly, frizzy, straight; we don’t care. We want to harvest, we want to make a profit.
THAN YOUR NOSE IS LONG | Leandra Hak
Theater Kikker
Notice the discomforts, irritations, jokes, rawness of the everyday and let it be what it is. Don’t ignore it, look at it, absorb it. It is beautiful the way it is. Even if it is ugly.
HAVE A SKIRT | Lucas Dragt
Het Huis Utrecht
Step into the fitting room and put on a skirt! How does it fit? How does it look? How do you feel in it? What does it mean to wear a skirt? Who are skirts actually for?

ARE YOU ON YOUR PERIOD OR SOMETHING? | Saskia Jones-Walters
Het Huis Utrecht
Are you passionate, firm, a strong leader? Or are you hysterical and aggressive. Maybe you’re just on your period. How do you learn to be angry if, as a young woman, you were taught not to be? An audiovisual work that questions who is entitled to anger.
