More and more space is opening up in the theatre world for different voices. For unique and personal performances taken straight from real life, told by makers who weren't always given a stage before. LGBTQIA+ artists of colour often express their stories in spaces where western culture and ideas are dominant. Do these environments change along with the makers who create and tell their stories in them? Do organisations that offer their stages take enough responsibility for a safe bedding? What knowledge, sensitivity, frameworks and possibilities are needed to protect these artists?
Physical performer and theatre maker Çiğdem Polat is putting together a program to enter a conversation together. She invites writer and performer Jasper Albinus, and actor and storyteller Nasim to share their work. She herself will open the afternoon with a clip from her performance Göbek Aşkı. Milone Reigman, dramaturge and theatre maker with a lot of experience in creating spaces for artists of colour, will moderate the talk.
