In Children of Zeus queer dance maker Robin Nimanong and visual artist Valentina Gal explore the multilayered theme of decolonization through dance, visual arts, and visual storytelling. In this work-in-progress piece, the creators explore the connection between indigenous myths and fantasies and the current natural world, creating a space of deeper value for marginalized voices and hidden narratives. Drawing on the unique intersectional equity of their queer identity, Thai heritage, and background in queer ecology, Robin works intentionally to include multisided perspectives. Valentina’s scenography is shaped as a landscape, providing also the perfect backdrop for queer pop culture expression and joy.
